NY Tech wins MAAC Regular Season and Tournament Titles; Star 2B Barney McFadden Drafted
Written By

A new light now shines in New York as the New York Institute of Technology has made it to the NCAA Tournament. 1st-year coach Mick O'Ryan has led the team to a 44-20 record, a 22-8 conference record, and a MAAC title sweep. They finished last season ranked at #201, but now hold the #110 ranking. It looks to be only getting better from here. NY Tech has fought tough recruiting battles, getting a commit from Taylor Luna and also being very close to getting three more players, including a 2-star.

On another note, four NY Tech players were drafted in this year's draft. Star 2B Barney McFadden was the 22nd pick of the 1st round, being the first player in NY Tech history to be drafted in the 1st round. Three of his teammates (SR SP Milo Sweet, JR RF Ethan Murphy, SR CF Bradley Yang) were also drafted.

NY Tech now has the task of trying to get through the Charlottesville Regional. The teams include #11 Virginia, #22 UT-Arlington, and #43 Seattle. The predictions are down below. Happy Regionals, and Go Bears!

vs #11 Virginia - (7-2 L)
vs #43 Seattle - (6-4 W)
vs #23 UT Arlington - (2-1 W)
vs #11 Virginia - (11-2 L)
